Must Run

Liam needs to exercise - he very pleasant when he does. This can be accomplished by biking, riding his scooter, playing soccer or basketball, swinging, or just plain running for no good reason other than just to run. We had some cold, windy, damp days and Liam was not able to get outside (he is not one for the cold, unless it is snow, and wouldn't go outside, he kept showing up at the door after only minutes). In order to get his exercise on these cold days, he was running...inside...in circles...for a long time. It did the job, and Noah enjoyed the show.

One day closer to mobility

The other night, Noah got up on his knees and pushed himself backwards - not far, but it was movement. He did this 3 times. He is most active between 5 and 6pm, after "dinner" and before bed. It is at this time, that if left alone, he will somehow make his way around the living room floor - by scooching on his back, rolling, pushing, and swivelling, often intent on reaching some treasured object that is just out of reach but very enticing. (Note in the pictures, he starts ON the blanket, and ends up almost in the fireplace). We think it won't be long...

Floor Time

A Little Wobbly

Big Week...

This has been a big week for Noah, lots of changes seemingly overnight - starting to sit, trying desperately to grab anything out of reach, sightings of him attempting to get onto his knees (we don't think it will be long now), and trying, yet again, to eat solids...

Noah is loving his exersaucer and can spend quite some time (in baby-time) here. He just discovered his reflection in the mirror.

Liam is proving to be quite the loving and entertaining big brother. He likes to give Noah his (Liam's) special "b's" (blankees) and will lay them out on the floor for Noah to play on. No one can make Noah laugh out loud like the sight of Liam jumping around or making silly noises and faces. Liam is also quick with a hand towel when Noah spits up or throws up (yes...we have a gagger). This 4-year age difference is proving very useful!

We have just tried solids again (I have lost count as to how many times we have tried and stopped due to Noah's lack of interest). We tried oatmeal yesterday, and as you can see from his face, he was not thrilled. He ate 1 tsp and didn't cry or move his head - progress!

About 2 weeks ago, Noah figured out that he can roll onto his tummy and fall asleep, thereby spending more time on his tummy in his crib. He must have been practicing hard because all of a sudden he is up on his hands, tummy off the ground, and there are moments when his bottom raises up and I swear he is tucking his knees under...

Ta-da! He started this on Sunday, and everyday he gets better and more confident with his ability. He is very focused and determined when there is an enticing toy just out of reach...very soon we think he'll figure out how to get to it...

Happy Birthday Papa Jack!

We wish we were there to sing this in person.

Happy Birthday, we love you.
