Just hanging out
Some photos when Noah and I were just hanging out on the floor - one of his most favorite things to do - he can entertain himself for a long time just sitting on the floor with some toys. We will try to foster this wonderful behavior and hope it pays off when he is 4!

The Raptors
Liam started his first season of field soccer. Team name - the Raptors, which of course to an almost 5 year old is the coolest team name - nothing cooler than a dinosaur. He is a big fan of soccer and has been taking classes in an indoor soccer area for the last 1 1/2 years. This was a BIG deal - he finally got shin guards, more soccer socks (so far he has not worn this pair up to his thighs like previous pairs), and, of course, cleats. He is the one in the black shorts with the red stripes.
He scored the first goal for his team. We don't know what the final score ended up being - there was a lot of running in clumps, some tears, and it was hard to keep track. At one point, one of the kids on our team ended up in a group huddle with the opposing team.

This was during the warm-up - Liam was the first to begin "dribbling" the ball in the square of cones (he then corrected the coach and informed him that he had indeed made more of a rectangle with the orange cones). Thank you.
Some more of the warm-up. Liam was very excited and distracted, we're sure he did not hear a word of what coach Randy said.

So close...
It is agonizing to watch for the pure frustration of it all, but Noah has a quiet determination that will render him mobile in no time.
The commentary on the first video is just a little taste of the stream of made up words that Liam "experiments" with...a joy to the ears all day long...

Noah Gets a Tooth, And Other News...
Last week Noah got his first tooth, and we believe is working on his second one this week. He is up on all fours, scooting backwards, and he is very frustrated that he is not moving forwards...towards his toys.
In other exciting news, Noah ate sweet potatoes again (this is the only food that he will really take right now). We only got through 1/2 of a small jar, but hey...that is progress for us. We have accepted that he will not be the voracious eater we all know Liam to be. We are guessing that he will not be eating broccoli or asparagus at the age of 18 months.
The weather has warmed a bit and we have enjoyed our neighborhood park. Noah would stay in the baby swing for an hour if we let him. His brother, however, only swings for 2 minutes and is off the swing and on to the next thing. One of many ways they are so very different.
